"What's with the weather?" — a new climate-literacy platform

We are launching a space where weather, climate and climate change are explained clearly, for everyone — with no jargon.

“It’s just the weather” or “the climate is changing”? The difference matters, but it isn’t always easy to explain. That is how “What’s with the weather?” — our climate-literacy programme for the general public — came to be.

The new platform brings together short articles, visuals and infographics that answer simple questions: why does it rain differently than it did 30 years ago? what does a “record-warm year” mean? how do we prepare for increasingly dry summers in the Carpathians?

Everything is explained without jargon, starting from the real questions people ask. Alongside the online content, the programme includes public talks and meetings in communities, schools and libraries.

Climate concerns us all — and understanding it is the first step to acting. Visit the platform and tell us which topics you would like us to explain.
